This client owns a lot of really large but beautiful hutches and pieces of furniture in her kitchen and dining room. They were each packed incredibly full and this made it really difficult to both know the contents, but also to access anything without fear of breaking something or piles of stuff falling over. We took everything out and started purging, something this client had not done since she was married. She took a few pictures of items she wasn't using but that were given to her so she could remember them. We talked through what kinds of categories she wanted to create within these hutches, and then we discussed how many of each category she wanted. We considered her love of the item, the functionality of it, and how many others like it she already had. We made ease of access our highest goal, as there were items she discovered she'd never used because they were buried. Now those items have a front row seat and will get good use!
