This client's pantry needed some tough love! After pulling everything out, we scrubbed the pantry from top to bottom. We began to categorize the food into categories that made sense to the client so she could see how large or small those categories were. We also used this time to discard expired food. Everybody's got some! We then "mapped out" homes for items based on how large each category of food was. Rather than go to the store to buy new products, we roamed around the house and found lots of different storage containers to hold everything. Boundaries in a pantry can really help to curb the amount of food you are stockpiling, as well as create a less cluttered look. This client really wanted her sons' snacks separate from hers, as well as having a space reserved for dinner items. Being able to see everything in any given category helps her know what she needs when creating a grocery list.
